Turkish bride and groom feed 4,000 refugees instead of getting married

For most newlyweds, a wedding is “their day”, but this generous couple decided to dedicate it to other people. Fethullah, 24, and Ezra, 20, used the money they gave them for their wedding to feed Syrian refugees. Together with the charity staff, they stood behind the counter, still dressed in their wedding attire, and fed four thousand people in a day.

“We wanted to help our Syrian brothers,” the young people said. “To see the happiness in the eyes of the children of Syrian refugees is priceless. We started our journey of happiness by making other people happy, and it's a magical feeling!”

The wedding took place in the Turkish city of Kilis on the border with Syria. Turkey has taken in more than a million Syrian refugees since the conflict began in 2011, according to the UN.
