The mine is so surreal that it resembles a Tomb Raider level.

1. The history of the salt mine in Wieliczka dates back to the Middle Ages when it was called Magnum Sal, or Great Salt.
2. In the 13th century, it was the largest source of salt in the country, which was of decisive importance for the country's economy.
3. Today it is one of the main tourist attractions in Poland.
4. According to the Wieliczka Salt Mine website, there were 300-350 salt mines in operation in the Middle Ages, and salt production could be around 7-8 tons per year.
