Specialists Scottish clinic Diabetes Remission Clinical Trial has developed a new diet that helps people suffering from type 2 diabetes to translate the disease into remission. Professor Michael Lin, who led the study, believes their success is proof that an infirmity is curable. In the UK thousands of patients have already begun to follow a new diet, they doctors prescribe.
The essence of the miracle diet is that patients follow a plan of weight loss in 12 weeks they daily consume 850 calories in the form of special cocktails and soups for losing weight. This reduces the amount of fat in the liver and the pancreas, causing diabetes goes into remission.
Professor Lin recommends that all people with type 2 diabetes to switch to a new diet. However, before starting a diet should consult a doctor. Under the program patients will also need during the year to do more exercise. After three months of dieting on soups and smoothies patients gradually move on to solid foods in consultation with nutritionists and doctors.
Three patients were tested new diet and shared their experiences and results. Here are their stories of struggle against diabetes.
In just 7 months, 54-year-old Edward Machacha was able to overcome the type 2 diabetes and have lost 32 kg, thanks to a new diet. He learned about his diagnosis in January 2020, but thinks that the disease was at it long before that.
Edward says that the diet was easy for him. He understood what is at risk, therefore, strictly adhere to all instructions of doctors. Now the Briton feels himself a new man. The man became healthier, more active and started going to the gym and stopped snoring. He says he will never go back to harmful food, to be healthy.
65-year-old Eddie Morrison worked all her life, devoting time to training. As a result, his weight reached 114 kg. He found out about his diagnosis in 2010, undergoing regular medical examination at work. Since then, the British started treatment.
Now Eddie weighs 83 kg and is no longer taking medication. His diabetes went into remission. The man passed on a healthy diet and continues to follow the program. He feels full of energy, thanks to the diet that changed his life.
57-year-old Beverly learned of his type 2 diabetes in 2018, passing a simple blood test. She began taking drugs, causing trouble sleeping and constantly felt weak. The woman sought help on the Internet and suddenly came across information about the program Professor Lina in February 2019.
The Briton took part in trials of new diet and moved on to soups and smoothies. She ate only 850 calories a day for 8 weeks. Beverly lost weight from 78 to 66 kg and her disease went into remission. The woman did not expect such a positive result and grateful to the team of professionals who helped her return to normal life.
January 23, 1922 was made the first injection of insulin to man. The injection saved the life of a child who was in the terminal stages of diabetes. Since then the diagnosis has ceased to be a sentence.
