How the aliens landed in Iceland: The Surreal fantasies of Siggeir Hafsteinsson

Iceland is an amazing country with pristine nature and absolutely unearthly landscapes. And it is also one of the most sparsely populated and secluded places on the planet. If the aliens decide to pay us a visit,they will most likely choose this northern island. This is the opinion of the Icelandic photographer and designer Siggeir Hafsteinsson, who presented a fantastic series of works "Close contact — landing in Iceland".

Icelander Siggeir Hafsteinsson lives on the edge of the world, but he is well known by professionals all over the world. The master of photography and digital graphics has collaborated with such giants as Nike, MTV and Adobe, creating advertising for them.

But Siggeir is known not only as a master of advertising photography, but also as a landscape photographer. He created the largest collection of photos of his native land, systematically, year after year, taking pictures of nature and choosing the best ones from them.

The photographer has traveled and walked all over Iceland and jokes that he knows every rock on the local coast. Not so long ago, Hafsteinsson decided to give a new meaning to the harsh northern expanses of the island and added alien spaceships to the pictures.

After the first experiment with landscapes and graphics, Siggeir was amazed at how organically fantastic fleets from other galaxies look against the background of Icelandic nature.

Iceland already looks like another planet, and spaceships have maximized this similarity. The series of works was called "Close contact-landing in Iceland" and its appearance was enthusiastically welcomed by fans of the fantasy genre, first in the author's homeland, and then around the world.
