Why do South Korean girls refuse to get married and have children
South Korea is facing extinction. In a country that has created an economic miracle, an internal threat has appeared — the "sampo generation". This is the name of girls who do not want to marry and have children. Increasingly, young women and girls generally refuse to have relationships with men. The term "sampo" means the refusal of girls from three natural things: sex, marriage and the birth of children.

What do the girls of South Korea say
The stories told by "sampo" of different ages and professions are similar as two drops of water. They made a difficult choice, guided by the life experience and the example of their colleagues.

Heroine 2: Choi Moon-jung

A 60-year-old resident of the capital, a mother of three daughters, does not hope to wait for her grandchildren. Her daughters are well over forty, but none of them plans to get married and have children.
Such situations are not something out of the ordinary. For most girls, pregnancy is not a reason for joy. They are faced with a difficult choice.

The transformation of a backward country into a leading player in the world economy became possible thanks to the dedication of the able-bodied population. Economic growth has affected only the well-being of citizens. The worldview of men has remained the same. Emancipated girls do not want to play a secondary role in society. After all, being independent, they make a career with hard work on an equal basis with men. Today, South Korean women have access to jobs that were previously occupied exclusively by men.

Naturally, the current situation affects the birth rate. Today, there are only 5.5 marriages for every thousand people in South Korea, which is almost half as much as in 1970. Previously, 9.2 out of a thousand people got married. Traditionally, the country has a very low level of single mothers giving birth to a child out of wedlock.

According to official statistics, only 357 thousand babies were born in South Korea in 2017.
Modern girls of South Korea — the legacy of globalization. Realists do not succumb to patriotic calls to take care of the future of the country. "Sampo" claim that the extinction of the culture of dominant men is a natural course of the evolution of society.
