Who trades on the most ancient and the biggest Bazaar in the world
Bright ceramics, plush carpets, sparkling stones, furniture, Antiques and Souvenirs — and this is not a complete list of what you can find on one of the largest and oldest bazaars of the beautiful city of Istanbul — the Grand Bazaar (or Grand Bazaar).
The Grand Bazaar stretches on 61 street and can accommodate more than 3 thousand shops and stalls. Daily come to the market more than 250 thousand people. In fact, the Bazaar is a city within the city — there are not only shops, but also mosques, restaurants, houses and even a cemetery.
Istanbul's Grand Bazaar was built in the XV century on the site of the markets of the Byzantine capital under Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror.
Despite the growing popularity of endless shopping centres, the architecture of the covered Bazaar and traditions associated with the biggest market in the world, still attract millions of tourists and local residents — in 2014, the Grand Bazaar has been named the most visited attraction in the world.
