In addition to increased physical activity, astronauts spend many months away from their families, and they have to leave their taste habits on Earth, especially such as, for example, their favorite pizza.
Italian astronaut Paolo Nespoli, a member of the ISS crew, said during one of the conferences that he missed Italian cuisine. Then the astronauts were sent the necessary ingredients, including dough, pepperoni, vegetables and sauce.

Six astronauts — Americans Mark Vande Hei and Joseph Acaba, Russians Sergey Ryazansky and Alexander Misurkin — under the leadership of Nespoli themselves prepared the first space pizza in zero gravity, and Randolph Breznik filmed and posted a video of the cooking process.

Maybe the pizza turned out not very similar to the earthly one, but Paolo Nespoli, after trying it, said that it was "unexpectedly delicious."
