Roman Veyon from Paris traveled across Europe, Africa and Latin America to film everything that people have left, from the ruins of houses and decommissioned train cars to abandoned casinos and empty prisons.
A novice researcher of the urban environment said that abandoned places had sunk into his soul as a child, when he played in abandoned buildings in the vicinity of his grandparents' houses. "I've always loved going there and trying to imagine what their history is and how people lived or worked there. Over time, I decided to try to capture the spirit and atmosphere of eternity that you experience there, to show how time has stopped and how destruction and nature are gradually taking over these places."
Roman Veyon's photographs were included in his first hardcover album entitled "Ask the Dust" (Ask the Dust). The photographer hopes to travel to Asia soon to complement his collection of images. Veyon does not tell where exactly the buildings he rented are located, as he fears that they may be destroyed by vandals.
