The Skinheads of 1979-1983 in pictures by Derek Ridgers
Shaved heads, provocative tattoos in the most unpredictable places, leather jackets and Dr. Martens shoes — yes, these are the invariable attributes of a subculture called "skinheads". For the first time this direction appeared in England in the late 60s of the last century. Photographer Derek Ridgers is familiar with representatives of this subculture firsthand — his black-and-white photographs are perhaps one of the most striking portraits of representatives of this then-young movement.
