Sony held a presentation here of two new flagship smartphones Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact. On this island of tranquility, gadgets looked like aliens from outer space.

The Xperia XZ1 smartphone is designed for those who are not used to putting up with ordinary characteristics. The case, made of solid metal sheet, is indifferent to moisture and dust. The top-end chipset provides work in Gigabit Class LTE networks (up to 1 Gbit/s). And the 5.2-inch Full HD HDR screen is protected from scratches and damage.

The creators of the gadget proudly raise their chins when it comes to the Motion Eye camera with a built-in memory module. It allows you to shoot stunning videos in Super Slow Motion mode at up to 960 frames per second. As for the photo, the Predictive Capture mode draws attention to itself: several pictures of fast-moving objects are created even before a person presses the camera shutter.

But still, the most powerful Xperia XZ1 gadget, without a doubt, is the 3D Creator. Sony's unique algorithm scans any small objects and recreates them on the smartphone screen. After that, you can do whatever you want with this three-dimensional image. At least insert it into a video, at least print it out on a 3D printer.

The Compact version has similar performance characteristics, but it has a smaller screen — 4.6 inches. The smartphone case is made of reinforced fiberglass. Like its older brother, the Xperia XZ1 Compact is available in four colors: black, warm silver, moon blue and pink sunset.

It is worth noting that the XZ1 Compact will become the best friend for fans of taking group selfies. Thanks to the flash display and a wide-angle front camera with a viewing angle of 120 degrees, which can be switched to normal mode with one touch.

The main emphasis in this case is again on the camera. 23 megapixels and high-power optics guarantee excellent image quality even in low-light conditions. The front-facing camera boasts a resolution of eight megapixels and a wide-angle lens. You can control it with gestures: just wave your hand to take a selfie.
