Two married couples — Calvin and Samantha and their neighbors, Rob and Helen — live in adjacent duplex houses in the West Midlands, Great Britain. And there is a small space between their houses.

Couples, as usual, have children and work, and on weekends they like to get together and savor homemade beer of their own production. Friends have long wanted to find a place for gatherings, since children are at home, and if they go somewhere, then someone alone will have to not drink and take everyone. So all their attempts to get out somewhere ended up in an ordinary evening in the living room.

One day, Kelvin saw old wooden boxes lying around, and an idea came to him.
