The non-profit charity organization March of Dimes, which helps mothers and newborns, together with St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas organized an action in which volunteers and nurses made tiny superhero costumes for young patients.

"Families can spend weeks or even months in perinatal intensive care, and it can be a very emotional time," said Jennifer Hamblin Robinson, an employee of the charity. "Being able to celebrate Halloween with their kids gives them a sense of normality and a chance to celebrate their child's first days in this world, which is what any family wants."

Photographer Helen Ransom says that photo shoots with premature newborns are one of her favorite options for volunteer work in the field of photography. The happy eyes of the parents of these kids in such a difficult time is the best reward, according to the photographer.

The hospital and charity organization presented parents with postcards with footprints of their children, crocheted pumpkins filled with sweets, and a book about Halloween for family reading.
