Being born and raised in Fano means living in symbiosis with the sea and its sandy beaches strewn with rocks. One of the most fascinating games in these parts is the study of small stones of unusual shape that resemble something or someone. The artist Stefano Furlani, being an adherent of preserving traditions, passed this hobby on to his son David when he was three years old. He was immediately imbued with this gift of nature. Turning on his imagination, he began diligently searching for unusual stones with unique geometry.

Father and son collected and laid out these stones together, sitting on the beach under an umbrella. So they began to create more and more complex and detailed compositions. The only problem was that after creating the stone paintings, it was only necessary to watch how the tide destroyed them. This led Stefano to the idea of putting stones on a wooden base and making them real paintings.
