1. "I know it will be unpleasant for many to see this photo and even want to turn away from it, but I took this photo only to show the reality of drug addiction" — that's how the woman signed the picture. Eva's message quickly went viral, readers of her accounts shared it more than 250 thousand times.
2. Holland said that her husband turned into a heroin addict after becoming addicted to pain pills. Before Christmas, he underwent a rehabilitation course, but again got hooked on this drug just because of one taken tablet for toothache.
3. Eva and Mike have been together for 11 years, starting at the age of 15. They have two children together: son Lucas and daughter Ava.
4. Mike died on September 2 at the age of 26 in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. He did not take drugs after the rehabilitation course, which ended before Christmas, until the last relapse.
5. Mike posted some details of his drug struggle on his Facebook page. In this April post, he says he is completely sober.
6. In May, Mike published his pictures before and after recovering from drug addiction for comparison.
7. Judging by this May post, the family union, which broke up earlier this year, has been restored again.
8. According to Eva, she decided to share her husband's story to help other people.
9. "It could have been prevented, it shouldn't have happened, but one wrong choice destroyed the family."
10. "You may think this will never happen to you, but I guess Mike thought the same way."
11. "But he was wrong. Last Wednesday he took his last breath. The father of my children, the man I have loved since I was a child, a great son and a great man has lost his battle."
12. "I just need to share my story. I hope she helps someone else."
13. "No parent should bury their child and no child at the same age as our children should not bury their parents."
