7. Guitarist Tony Iommi was asked to write the soundtrack for the film. He liked the idea and set about writing, but Tony's manager asked for too high a fee, as a result of which the deal did not go through. 9. Another famous Craven hit, the teen thriller Scream contains many references to A Nightmare on Elm Street.

For example, Craven himself starred as a school janitor named Fred, who wore the same hat and striped sweater as Krueger. Tatum Riley, the character of Rose McGowan, wears a T-shirt with the number 10 in one of the scenes, which was worn by Glen Lantz, the character of Johnny Depp. Joseph Whipp, who played Police Sergeant Parker, appeared in Scream as Sheriff Burke. Casey Becker (played by Drew Barrymore) in the film says that all the sequels to A Nightmare on Elm Street suck, because Wes Craven sold all the rights to the characters before the first part was released, and actually did not participate in the creation of sequels . The scene in which Billy climbs into Sydney's room is very similar to the scene in Nightmare when Glen sneaks into Nancy's room.
