Spot work: stunning sculptures made from hundreds of thousands of nails
Markus Levine is a sculptor who specializes in creating statues depicting the human body. Markus uses an unusual technique: he makes statues out of a huge number of nails. It takes him several weeks to create some works, and sometimes even several months.

"I bring my ideas to life by hammering nails into large white wood panels at different distances from each other to work out the tone and texture in more detail. Most of my "nail sculptures" depict the human body. The main interest for me is the lines of the human figure. They are very natural and perfectly visible, for example, during graceful dances — this is the perfection of forms that I tried to portray, " says Markus.
