Son, you are space!

By Pictolic https://mail.pictolic.com/article/son-you-are-space.htmlWe diligently teach children that only the sky is the limit. But when it comes to ourselves, we often forget this wisdom and drown in everyday life. Photographer Aaron Sheldon in his photo project invites us to put on those same rose-colored glasses again and look at the world around us with genuine childish curiosity.
The idea for the project came to Sheldon by accident while he and his 4-year-old son were on the bus. The boy watched the road with such interest, inspecting the bus and peering into the faces of the passengers, that Aaron involuntarily envied the delight that his son showed. At the same time, he thought that many adults would also do well to add a little childish admiration to their usual routine.

In the pictures, the photographer decided to "embellish" the routine and show the daily worries of adults as they are seen for the first time by a child proudly playing the discoverer.
The key element of the project - the astronaut suit - appeared later. When Aaron and his son were at the clinic, they wondered who would be brave enough not to be frightened by a visit to the doctor. The kid suggested that the astronauts are quite suitable. And the next time Aaron dressed up his offspring in a space suit before going to the doctor. This is how the Small Steps, Big Jumps project was born.

All of the photographs depict places and activities that most of us experience on a daily basis - a bus, a laundry, a store, a library, or a coffee shop. At the same time, a small child each time plays the role of an astronaut who first set foot on an unknown planet: for him, all these places are like a brave new world - unusual, mysterious and insanely interesting.
