Rock stars and their parents

They have fame, massive amounts of money and fans willing to do anything for it, to breathe the same air with them. But the famous rock stars have another side. After all, they are just mortals, and they have parents who fans should be grateful for what they gave the world these people. We offer to your attention a selection of photos of the stars of the 70s with their parents from the archives of LIFE magazine.

And here is grace slick with her daughter, China in 1971. Photographer John Olson says that the photo of rock stars with their parents was always intended to show the contrast between the way he was brought up stars, and who they became. Virginia Wing was soft and calm, you will not tell about her wild child-a daughter grace.

Reggie Dwight, later known as Elton John with his mother Sheila and her husband Fred in their suburban London apartment in 1970. At this point, Elton recorded only three albums, and it hits like Rocket Man, Daniel, Bennie and the Jets, Candle in the Wind ; has not yet been written.

"My father wanted to be an actor", said Frank Zappa about his father. And Frank's mother always said that the only thing she irritates her son is that his hair is more curly and black than her.

Emotions, generous gestures, and liters of sweat – it was on stage during performances of Joe Cocker. But offstage he was simple and prone to loneliness– a kind of mixture of Harold Cocker, his father, who liked to dig in the garden, than to sit with my son and him loving to talk to the mother.

The world knew him as ginger, but the mother said his name was Peter and he was always "her Pete".

Parents Crosby from the group "Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young" divorced. In this photo he is with his father Floyd – the Oscar-winning Director. David Crosby says that most of all he likes in his father that he didn't need to son was like him. So they became good friends, because they don't mind that they are different.

Group the Jackson 5 with their parents in California in 1970. Unlike the other stars in this post, the Jackson brothers – Michael, Marlon, Tito, Jackie and Germany – became stars still kids, but still lived with their parents (father and part-time Manager Joe and mother Katherine). At the time this photo they were at the peak of his popularity and recently moved into a new expensive home.

The Scottish musician Donovan with his parents Donald and Winifred in England in 1970. Parents Donovan loved Scottish and English folk music, and it inspired their son, who wrote such hits as "Season of the Witch" and "Mellow Yellow". However, at the time of this filming career, Donovan has waned.
