Retro erotica from Portuguese photographer Igor Makovsky

There’s something hard to explain that draws us to old photos. Oddly enough, this effect also works with new, retro-styled photos. Lisbon-based photographer Igor Makovsky specializes in nude photography and is especially fond of “old” photos that have a mid-20th century feel. (Caution: Nudity).

Lisbon is an incredibly colorful city with many locations that are simply created for good photos. Igor Makovsky skillfully uses this potential of the Portuguese capital. Sometimes it seems that in front of us are actually pictures from the 40-50s of the last century, restored and digitized.

For Makovsky, there are no trifles - he creates an era around the model, not forgetting about clothes and accessories. Such shoots are incredibly difficult and take a lot of effort and money, because finding underwear that was worn half a century ago or a retro interior these days is incredibly difficult.

But the photographer's efforts are worth it. His girls are beautiful and sexy, and the setting immerses us in the past. Masterfully using light and sepia, the master achieves a cinematic image and, sometimes, you want to ask what old movie this or that frame is taken from.
