But only after 30 years he began to develop his career as an artist and author of maddening optical illusions, which became his signature works.

Even in his youth, Goncalves was influenced by the work of Escher, Dali and Tanga. It was their paintings that made the Canadian try himself in surrealism. Now Rob Gonsalves is 57 years old and he is an internationally recognized talent thanks to the skillful use of perspective, imagination and impeccable technique.

"Childhood spent in dreams and drawing have developed into a career of the author of paintings, which, first of all, are a tribute to the imagination. On my way, I plunged into the world of architecture, but my paintings were warmly received at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition in Toronto in 1990, and I took up painting on a permanent basis," says the artist.
