In her documentary portrait series "Gypsy" photographer Patrick Carew decided to observe the life that eternally wandering people. However, he did it in the opposite direction, having started to study the Gypsy culture and way of life in European countries, gradually moving from West to East, and in the end, after finishing his studies in India, which is assumed to be the historical homeland of the Roma people.

The author managed to collect rare documentary material, which lasted about ten years of my career as a photographer. Patrick took pictures of the different groups of Gypsies: this is how the French "manushi" living in prosperity and driving a Mercedes, and quite poor in Slovak and Romanian Roma. Seen is amazing, and makes you think about how the living conditions could affect the appearance and mentality of a person.
