Nude models are back on the pages of the Pirelli calendar 2019

The calendar of the Italian company Pirelli, which produces car tires, has been published since 1964. For many years, famous models were filmed for him in the nude. Then the company abandoned this concept for a while, but this year the nude still returned to the pages of the legendary publication.

If earlier photographers arranged scenes of sex and debauchery for the calendar, then in 2016 the company decided to change the concept and released a calendar with "influential women of our time", among whom were comedian Amy Schumer, model Natalia Vodianova and singer Patti Smith. And last year, the calendar was dedicated to black artists who appeared in the images of characters from Lewis Carol's fairy tales.

In the same year, the shooting of the 46th calendar was conducted by British designer and photographer Albert Watson, known for his special cinematic look. The master showed how "women dream", beating the success stories of four women in his pictures — Hadid, Caste, Copeland and Garner.

The calendar, which was called "The Power of Dreams", included 40 color and black-and-white photos. The main characters were Gigi Hadid paired with Alexander Wang, Julia Garner, Misty Copeland with Calvin Royal III, Letizia Casta together with Sergei Polunin.

The calendar was shot in Miami and New York in April of this year.
