Now you can: the princess of Saudi Arabia starred behind the wheel for the cover of the new Vogue
The June issue of Vogue Arabia came out with a cover showing Saudi Arabia's Princess Haifa bint Abdullah Al Saud posing behind the wheel of a car. From June 24, women of the kingdom will be able to drive a car without getting permission from a male guardian. Saudi Arabia was the last country in the world where women were forbidden to drive, and the struggle for this right began in the country back in the 1990s.

The cover reads: "Driving Force" and "Celebrating the New Path of Saudi Arabian Women." This is the first issue of Vogue dedicated to the kingdom.

The shooting was conducted by photographer Boo George in the desert near the city of Jeddah.

In an interview for the magazine, the princess spoke about the reform program "Vision of Saudi Arabia 2030", which is planned to be carried out until 2030.
After the publication of the June cover, the Vogue editorial office was criticized for not mentioning the May arrests of 11 Saudi political activists in the magazine. The detainees demanded to lift the ban on female driving and the system of guardianship over the residents of the country. At least four of them were released, but the fate of the rest remains unclear.

Nora Abdulkarim, a popular Twitter user, published collages in which the princess's face from the cover was replaced with the faces of three detained activists.
