American biker gang Rescue Ink breaks dog fighting rings, rescues beaten animals from abusive owners, and even hires detectives to prove the animals were abused. Bikers even organized a rehabilitation shelter where specialists work with animals.
Many of them used to be associated with mafia clans. And now they have become universal favorites and idols of children. One of the organization's activists, Joseph Panzarella, says: “We protect those who cannot defend themselves. This is what unites us, our common faith, if you will. I am not an angel and never aspired to be an angel. But caring for animals is what boosts my self-esteem, what helps me respect myself.”
