On September 30, Reuters photographer Yannis Behrakis took a series of stunning images of one of the most beautiful light phenomena in nature — the Aurora Borealis near the Norwegian village of Mestervik, located beyond the Arctic Circle.

The aurora borealis is the glow of the upper layers of the atmospheres of planets with a magnetosphere, due to their interaction with charged particles of the solar wind.
