Look a little more closely: the artist paints using thousands of letters

Artist Phil Vance (Phil Vance) creates incredible portraits made up of thousands of letters. Talking about the pattern, texture and color, the artist describes the process as "drawing grid or cross-hatching". Each portrait famous people series "in Their own words" (In Their Own Words), from Einstein to Mark TWAIN, becomes a tribute to iconic historical figures.

For contouring, shading and details Vance writes quoted by several thousand times, different size and font. "I imagined how to paint a portrait in which it is possible to look and see his thoughts. I especially was fascinated with portraits of Willem de Kooning, Picasso and Maurits Escher. This is my favorite painters, and I wanted to Express my respect in his own way- to give people the opportunity to see their wisdom."

The first time the artist painted black handle, however, felt that the black color is not always conveys the profundity of his plan, was to use the colored ink. For a portrait of a famous Kinologia Joker Vance wrote the quotes from the movie "the Black knight" more than 100 hours.

As in the case of pointillism (a direction in painting, which is characterized by a particular style of writing — separate strokes of the correct form), from afar, cursive quotes merge together and create the image. If we get closer, we can see an infinite number of words and sentences.
