Killer Angels — The Faces of American death metal
Categories: Photo project
By Pictolic https://mail.pictolic.com/article/killer-angels-the-faces-of-american-death-metal.htmlIn this issue you will see portraits from the long-running project "Killer Angels" by photographer J. M. Giordano about fans of the musical direction "death-metal".
The author says: For the people in the photo, this music is a real religion. The portraits of the project were taken right in the crowd, and the pictures of the groups were taken immediately after the performance. There are no studio photos here. All "live", right during the performance. I myself have been listening to metal since high school, from the age of 9-10. My First T-shirts… I had two T—shirts that my mom practically pulled off of me: one of them was Judas Priest Turbo and Blizzard of Ozz by Ozzy Osbourne. I've always been interested in metal, even more thrash metal, bands like S.O.D. and Anthrax, because most of my friends were skaters. "Killer Angels" is a portrait project dedicated to fans and bands of the direction of child metal. I just pick them out of the crowd or after a performance and shoot their faces at "that very moment." No studio photos or Photoshop, except for the translation of the pictures in black and white."
