The monument dedicated to the independence fighter of the country Vallabhbhai Patel will reach 182 meters, and together with the pedestal — 240 meters. This structure will be twice as tall as the Statue of Liberty and will surpass the current leader by 54 meters — the 128-meter Buddha statue in China.
The statue is located in the middle of an artificial lake near the city of Vadodara in Gujarat.
The construction of the structure will require 5,700 tons of steel, 18,500 tons of iron reinforcement, 75,000 cubic meters of concrete and 22,500 tons of bronze sheet.
The cost of the monument is estimated at 320 million dollars. According to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who allocated 34 million for the construction, the monument will increase the country's international prestige and attract tourists.
