The southern waters of the Caribbean are teeming with marine life. Plunging into the depths of the ocean, as if you find yourself on another planet, where the laws of gravity do not apply. Photographer Jason Washington has lived in the Cayman Islands for many years but has never lost his admiration for wildlife. His rare and unique ones won first prizes in competitions and exhibitions more than once, and the name of the diving photographer became widely known in the creative community.

In the photographs, he captured many species of marine life that rarely swim up to people. But Washington became famous thanks to a series of freediving photographs. For shooting such shots, divers give up their suits and oxygen tank, leaving only a mask on their faces. Divers dive tens of meters deep into the ocean to take spectacular photographs.

For filming, Washington invited professional divers, models, and visiting divers. Good physical shape and preparation allowed them to pose for hours for a photo. Thanks to plasticity and flexibility, the girls in the photographs turned into almost supernatural creatures, accidentally captured by an uninvited alien from land.

Washington believes that the water element is the best suited to convey the beauty and grace of the human body. Even static poses acquire dynamics, and such softness and airiness of dance and gymnastic movements cannot be achieved under gravity.
