Fully nude actresses will play in a Shakespearean play in a New York park

Next month, The Torn Out Theater company will stage Shakespeare's nude play "The Tempest" in public Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Earlier, this version of the play with an all-female cast without clothes premiered in New York's Central Park.

In New York, it is legally allowed to be topless, but it is no longer possible to be completely naked. But this does not apply to artistic performances.

Some parents, who apparently often walk with their children in this park, are concerned about staging a new version of the classic play. Others believe that there is nothing to worry about, even if children see naked actresses. Rasha Dalba, one of the moms, says: "I'll just tell the kids that this is art. They express themselves. After all, this is a theatrical performance."

According to the plot, Prospero and Miranda, who spent 12 years on a desert island, are naked from the very beginning of the play. The rest of the characters who got to them after the shipwreck are first dressed in costumes, but get rid of them during the performance.

The theater company explains that nudity symbolizes the theme of alienation and separation from society. And the all-female cast declares that this is a great way to demonstrate that you need to love your body and accept it for what it is.
