Created by Yale alumni Henry Luce and Brighton Hadden, it became the world's first news weekly. During its existence, the publication has gained popularity among readers around the world. The cover of the magazine for 93 years has been visited by a variety of personalities from different countries.

Joseph Stalin was named "Man of the Year" by Time in 1939.
