For the most part, passengers read books, sleep, eat or drink something during long flights. But the American Nina Khachadourian closes herself in the airplane toilet to make self-portraits in the style of Flemish painting of the XV century. A series of such portraits of Nina is part of the project "Seat Assignment", as materials for which everything that can be found on the plane during the flight is used.

Here's how she tells about the photo series: "One day during a short flight to Monaco in March 2010, I suddenly accidentally put a napkin on my head and took a picture of my reflection in the mirror on my mobile phone. The resulting image reminded me of portraits of Flemish masters of the XV century."

"Then I took some more photos, and as a result, by the end of the flight I had a series of pictures in the same style, which I called "Toilet portraits"."
