Fires in Australia: the family of famous animal rights activist Irwin saves animals from death
Wildfires are raging in Australia, which this country has not yet known. Thousands of hectares are burning, the lives of hundreds of thousands of animals, including rare and endangered species, are under threat. The children of Steve Irwin, the famous Australian naturalist, came to the aid of the affected residents of the Australian bush.
The wife and children of Steve Irwin, the famous Australian naturalist and TV presenter, who died during filming from a stingray-tailed, continue his work of helping animals. The other day, Steve's daughter, Bindi Irwin, expressed sympathy to all the victims of the fires on her Instagram page.
However, although the Irvine Zoo was not affected by the fires, they are helping the animals affected by the fire as much as they can. Animals from the affected areas are being transported en masse to the hospital at the Irvine Zoo.
One of the patients was an opossum, who received the nickname Blossom in the hospital.
The scale of this year's Australian fires is terrifying. According to official data, more than 6 million hectares have already been burned, 2,500 buildings, including 1,300 residential buildings, have been destroyed by fire. In Victoria alone, 24 people were killed, 6 are missing.
Many animals die in the fire, many rare and endangered species are under threat. The Irwin family calls on Australians to unite and help the nature of Australia. The hospital at the Irvine Zoo accepts all animals affected by fires.
To help the Australian firefighters came colleagues from New Zealand, USA and Canada. Together they are trying to defend the burning Australian bush.
Severe fires have already caused irreparable damage to the nature of Australia. According to experts, up to half a billion animals may die in the fire and starve to death in the following months, when the burnt-out land will not be able to provide them with food.
Of particular concern is the future of the koala, the symbol of Australia. In the north of New South Wales alone, up to 30% of the koala population died as a result of fires.
Australians thank the Irwin family for their help in rescuing the animals.
Herds of kangaroos fleeing from the fire are a typical sight today in areas engulfed by fires. Firefighters have not yet given forecasts about when they will be able to cope with the fire.
