The first cat Pete wanted to photograph for his photo project hid behind the washing machine and flatly refused to come out; the next one hid under the sofa and meowed pitifully from there. Then Pete realized: if he was going to photograph these furry little bastards, he'd have to do it on their terms.

Pete's photo project is an ode to chubby, fluffy pets. All the animals were photographed in their homes to avoid any repeat incidents of hide-and-seek. When Pete decided to start his project, he became curious about the popular photos of fat cats online. To his surprise, he discovered that many of the photos featured meowing, overweight cats either sleeping surrounded by beer cans or adorably squeezed into boxes or baskets that were too small for their size. "People make fun of fat cats!" he suddenly realized. So he decided to take some serious portraits of his overweight pets.
