The offerings that the residents of Khania and tourists bring to Chonkus, as if he were an ancient deity, do not add to his health. The cat has grown so wide that he moves with difficulty. But it is precisely his impressive size that has become the reason for his popularity.

Some of Chonkus' fans are concerned about his physical condition. Overeating and a sedentary lifestyle can significantly shorten the life of Crete's main cat. So far, this problem has not been solved - after all, you can't put a policeman next to Chonkus.
