Endless manicure: how to paint your nails with 116 layers of varnish and not go crazy

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you painted your nails with all the nail polishes that are in the house? Video blogger Kristin Rotenberg decided to try what would come of it, and applied 116 layers of varnish, creating "lacquer mountains" on the nails of her right hand.

That's how she did it:

Kristin is fond of the manicure theme and posts a lot of nail design options on Instagram. It was the subscribers who challenged her, forcing the girl to sit for 12 hours for a manicure.

On her Simply Nailogical channel, Kristin showed the whole process, including one failed attempt. She painted her nails with all the shades of varnish that she had. There are 116 of them in total.

The Canadian sat down for a manicure at 9:47 in the morning, carefully applying each layer of varnish and alternating shades. After two hours and 40 layers of varnish, Kristin loses patience and decides not to wait so long for each layer to dry. As a result, she has to remove the slides of nail polish from her nails.

But you can't break a blogger: she starts all over again. During the second attempt, she patiently waits until each layer of varnish dries properly, and gets to the 16th layer to break for lunch at 14:26.

Having reached the 52nd layer and barely holding back emotions about the difficult ordeal she got involved in, Kristin encourages herself with a slice of pizza and lemonade to gain strength and finish what she started.

With each layer of varnish, the surface for the next layer decreases. In the deep evening, while waiting for the 83rd layer to dry, the girl decides to call several of her fans, who did not expect a call from her in any way.

When the blogger got to the hundredth layer, there were strange multicolored slides of varnish on the four fingers of her right hand. At twenty minutes to midnight, the girl applied the 116th coat of varnish.

After all her efforts, in just a couple of minutes she took off all the nail polish, pieces of which looked like gems.

Beauty bloggers' Instagram followers immediately followed her example and tried to build babelons on their nails, marking posts with the hashtag #polishmountain. Some showed remarkable skill and patience, while others had a rather pathetic result.
