Despite his specific style, the artist is very popular, and his works decorate many books in the horror and fantasy genres. Blair has his own unique style - he works only with pencils and ink and offers incredible detailing of the images.

Landis Blair's interest in drawing began in preschool. He spent the summer visiting his grandmother, who subscribed to many newspapers. Some of them had black-and-white comics, and the boy could look at them for hours. Already at school, Landis decided to try to create something of his own, and he succeeded.

After finishing school, Landis no longer had any questions about his future profession. He graduated from college and became a professional illustrator. It often happens that the authors of dark and scary books are cheerful and upbeat people. This is not the case with Blair. He is not a particularly cheerful guy and loves everything to do with death and decay. He is even an active member of the Order of the Good Death, an organization for the acceptance of death founded in 2011 by undertaker, writer and blogger Caitlin Doughty.

Blair's style is similar to that of another horror master, John Mortensen. Landis Blair's illustrations are frightening, fascinating, and captivating all at once. They convey sincerity, passion for the subject, and deep meaning. What is your take on dark art: does it make you uncomfortable, inspire you, or perhaps help you look at life from a new perspective?
