These shots were taken by photographer Don Terpstra, who documented life's a beach at Renaca in the 1980-ies. The Reñaca beach is still almost the most famous in the city of viña del Mar. Looking at these pictures, you would think that the Chileans — cheerful, beautiful and bright people who love to relax.

However, at that time the country was far from easy. Until 1986 the power was in the hands of the military, and in the early 80's has already started protests against the military dictatorship. However in the photos there is no shadow of anxiety.
