At dinner - how modern New Yorkers consume their food

People have dinner in different ways: some go to a cafe, some cannot eat without watching TV, some chew pizza while looking at the gadget screen, and some have a meditative dinner... at noon.

Miho Aikawa's parents worked a lot, so they had little time to spend together. As a result, the main rule in their family was to gather for family dinner.

At the end of the 2000s, Aikawa decided to pay more attention to this issue. She began photographing New Yorkers at dinner, focusing especially on “private moments.” Most of her models are friends and friends of friends. She asks them to eat as usual without paying attention to her. And then she realized that dinner today was not just about eating food. This is also a computer, Internet, TV and much more.
