But as a result, people leave the gum right where they chewed: they are molded on tables and chairs, and more often they just spit it out on the ground. To reduce the amount of garbage, the Dutch company Gumdrop has released sneakers made of recycled chewing gum.

The chewing gum from which the sneakers were created was collected right on the streets of Amsterdam. Then it was converted into pellets and sent to production, where they made a sole for shoes that is in no way inferior to rubber. By the way, a map of the city is cut out on the sole of the sneakers. The upper part of the shoe is made of leather.
Gumdrop representatives say that every year people spit out 1.5 million kilograms of chewing gum on Amsterdam sidewalks. And the authorities spend millions of euros on cleaning it. Now she has found a worthy use: for every four pairs of sneakers, a kilogram of gum goes away.

Gumdrop representatives say that this is the world's first pair of chewing gum shoes. The company wants to extend the project to other major cities and introduce an even simpler way to get rid of chewing gum. The sneakers will go on sale in June 2018 in pink and black and red colors. You will have to pay 190 euros for one pair.
