After winning the lottery, the Canadian quit and left the girl with whom they dreamed of a prize

Canadian Denise Robertson and her boyfriend have been dreaming of hitting the jackpot in the lottery for many years. And so, when the big day finally came, Denise sued the guy. And all because, as soon as he found out about the win, he packed up his things and disappeared.

Chatham resident Denise Robertson sued her boyfriend Maurice Thibault. She believes that half of the lottery winnings rightfully belong to her.

Dreams began to come true on September 20, when the Ontario Lottery and Gambling Corporation announced two 6/49 lottery winners who will share the $12 million prize pool. After learning about this, Denise wrote to Maurice.

When Maurice came home from work, he said that he had not won their ticket. Four days later, Thibault left for work and did not return. Denise came home and saw that all her boyfriend's clothes and documents were gone.

"When I look back, I remember that the day before he made about 15 loads of the washing machine, as if he was going to leave," Denise said.

Robertson found out that the young man quit his job at the store after showing the boss a photo of the winning ticket.

Denise filed a lawsuit on September 28. She warned the Ontario Lottery and Gambling Corporation about the controversy over the winnings. The injunction issued by a Supreme Court judge states that a corporation should not accrue winnings to anyone until the ownership issue is resolved. Thibault has already made an attempt to claim millions at the Toronto Prize Center, but it ended unsuccessfully.
