Abandoned places in Tbilisi

Situated in a deep valley, Tbilisi is a city of contrasts, built on the banks of the Kura River and located in the Republic of Georgia.

The architecture here marks a journey into the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, from the balconies of old houses to unique Soviet structures, all the way to ultra-modern skyscrapers and bridges. To be honest, the past isn't polished too much either, unlike many other cities that are being renovated to the point where the buildings lose any sense of authenticity. Although this has happened to a limited extent, especially in the part of the Old City around the slopes of the Narikala fortress, many abandoned buildings in this beautiful place remain untouched by restoration projects.

There are many tired, sleek, old buildings with cracked walls and decades of layers of faded and peeling paint. Small and large abandoned places with rickety balconies and old wooden doors leading to courtyards with family biographies going back centuries.
