It was created specifically for diving enthusiasts, and was invented by John Beernaerts in 1996.

1. Nemo 33 is a pool 33 meters deep (hence the name).

2. The pool contains 2.5 million liters of water!

3. Opened in 2004, the pool is used for training divers, for various studies, as well as for recreation.

4. The water temperature is constantly kept at around 30 degrees thanks to a large number of solar panels.

5. There are two "reservoirs" and three "holes" in the pool, the deepest of which is 6 m in diameter and reaches the maximum height of the pool at 33 m.

6. The pool also has underwater "caves" to explore.

7. There are also three "bubbles" in the pool so that divers can refill their tanks with air without going to the surface.
