1. Bruschetta (Italian: bruschetta) is a traditional Central Italian folk dish, nowadays an antipasto appetizer before the main meal to “increase appetite”. A distinctive feature of bruschetta from a sandwich or toast is that the slices of bread are pre-dried before frying (on the grill, on a wire rack or in a frying pan without oil). Ciabatta is perfect for making bruschetta.
2. Chicken Parmignana - baked chicken breasts in tomato sauce with parmesan. The dish is popular in the Campania region and in Sicily.
3. Panini - Italian closed sandwich or sandwich. Made from white wheat bread, mostly baguette, it is served hot. The classic filling is mozzarella, ham, tomatoes and pesto sauce.
4. Panna cotta (Italian: Panna cotta - “Cooked cream”) is a northern Italian dessert made from cream, sugar and vanilla.
5. Tramezzino - triangular sandwich or sandwich. Popular toppings are tuna, olives and prosciutto.
6. Tiramisu is one of the most popular desserts in the world. The dessert contains the following ingredients: mascarpone cheese, coffee (usually espresso), chicken eggs, sugar and savoiardi biscuits.
7. Tortellini (Italian Tortellini) - Italian dumplings made from unleavened dough with meat, cheese or vegetables. The historical homeland of tortellini is the Emilia region
8. Lasagna (ital. lasagne) - a traditional dish of Italian cuisine, especially the city of Bologna, made from layers of dough mixed with layers of filling, filled with sauce (usually bechamel). Filling layers can be from meat stew or minced meat, tomatoes, spinach, other vegetables and, of course, parmesan cheese.
9. Spaghetti (Italian Spaghetti) - a type of pasta. Spaghetti originated in Italy and is widely used in Italian cuisine, often served with tomato sauce. Spaghetti is the basis of numerous Italian dishes. Spaghetti was born in Naples and owes its name to Antonio Viviani, who nicknamed them so in 1842 for their resemblance to pieces of twine. The Spaghetti Museum displays 176 types of pasta. The Italian word "spaghetti" is not all noodles, but a strictly defined type of Italian pasta.
10. And, of course, pizza - the Italian national dish in the form of a round open flatbread, covered in the classic version with tomatoes and melted cheese (usually mozzarella). In connection with the importation of tomatoes to Europe in 1522, a prototype of Italian pizza appeared in Naples. In the 17th century, special people (“pizzaiolo”, pizzaiolo) appeared who prepared pizza for Italian peasants.
