Finnish Lapland is known around the world primarily as the birthplace of Santa Claus. However, there is another unique feature in this wonderful land – it is a forest that turns into absolutely unreal, mysterious figures in winter.


In the photos you can see stunning sculptures created from trees and snow by Arctic frosts.

Italian photographer Niccolo Bonfadini captured this surreal beauty.

During the winter months, the heaviest snowfalls completely cover the trees in the forest with a dense blanket of snow.

In these parts in winter for several weeks the air temperature does not rise above -20.

Lapland is located beyond the Arctic Circle, which provides the region with a long frosty winter.

But thanks to the Gulf Stream, the weather here is comfortable and warm in summer.
